This is a super easy project, perfect for a beginner, and takes very little time. You will need a piece of wood, a knob of your choosing and a drill.

I happen to have a small stash of barnwood so that is what I used, but any scrap size piece of wood is perfect for this. I found these simple white ceramic knobs at the local Habitat for Humanity ReStore, you can find similar white knobs here, or you can also always find fun colorful ones at World Market and Hobby Lobby too.

Once you have gathered your supplies, make sure your battery is charged on your drill predrill the holes for the knobs and then attach them to the board. I just screwed the boards directly into the wall, you could use anchors if you wanted, I didn't, and I feel like they are pretty securely fastened and are not going anywhere.

Optional: Find or make a fun motivational sign to hang above your new backpack dropzone, and then stand back and admire your great work!!

  1. I am just admiring the paint color! We are going to be painting our kids rooms coming up and I want to stick with a neutral color that can easily just change out accents/decorations later when they change their minds on a theme. My older son is getting a Star Wars room and daughter is getting Minecraft. This color would work well for both!
