Pretty Pink Spring Home Tour
Hi there, and welcome to my Pretty Pink Spring Home Tour! If you made your way here from Zografia's Eclectic Mess Spring Home Tour at Bisozozo, welcome and thanks for stopping by! I have to give a quick shout-out to Jenna from Wife in Progress Blog for putting together this great collection of Styled For Spring Home Tours, be sure to check out the full list of tours at the bottom of this post, you won't be disappointed!
A quick intro for those of you who are visiting for the first time, my name is Stephanie, I am a wife, boy mom (and baseball mom), home decor fanatic, and lover of rustic farmhouse charm, with a little bit of mid-century modern thrown in for good measure. I have a love for grey and navy blue, but adding a little pink here and there in a house full boys has become my new mission!
I'm going to be showing you my living room and dining room in my Pretty Pink Spring Home Tour today, so let's get started! In addition to adding more pink to our home, which I think just brings in a bright and fun vibe, I have been working on updating the two gallery walls in our home. The small one in our dining room is a work in progress, as I am scouring the thrift stores for original paintings and it takes time to find just the right ones. (The painting on the far right was done by my great grandma, and was the inspiration for the start of this gallery wall.)
The great thing about bringing in a new color (or brighter color), is that you can decorate with fewer "things", and still have a well-styled space. We use every bit of our home, so there is not a lot of room for extra fluff.
I can't decide if I am over the whole big gallery wall thing or not...what are your thoughts? I took ours down and completely re-did it. This one is smaller and simpler, and I think I'm going to keep it like this for a little while. Ultimately, I think it would be great to have one huge piece of art over the couch, but I haven't found the piece yet.
My favorite way to update the living room for the season is with new pillow covers and flowers. Both can be a super budget-friendly way to try out new colors or patterns. If you are going with real flowers, pick up those $10 supermarket flower bundles and separate them into multiple arrangements. And, if you have a kitten that eats your real flowers like we do, faux flowers are the way to go! Watch for sales at Michaels and Hobby Lobby and grab faux blooms at a great price, and you can easily switch them out from season to season.
Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting our home, be sure to head over to Create & Babble where Jeanie is sharing Spring Dining Room Table Decorating! I love all the sweet touches of pink! And we use every inch of our home as well - I love how you show how to decorate those spaces! Wonderful inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen! I love making our home functional and pretty!
DeleteI'm loving shades of blush and pink this spring, too! Your spring accents are so fun and how special that you're gallery wall was inspired by the painting from your great grandma--that's the kind of decor that really makes a house a home. Excited to be participating in the tour with you. Blessings, Cecilia @ My Thrift Store Addiction
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Cecilia! It's been so fun finding new blogs with this spring tour!
DeleteLove all of the pink touches - so perfect for spring!
ReplyDeleteThanks Meg! I'm definitely loving blush pink right now!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous home you have. I love the rose artwork above the couch and that cow art is amazing. You've added such wonderful touches of spring around your home and it's all so lovely. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue! I'm more than ready for spring!
DeleteYour flowers are so beautiful ! Especially those tulips! And the chair! Oh that chair above the cow. Enjoy your beautiful space!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Zografia! Those tulips are my favorites too!
DeleteI love your pillows too. My feelings, you can never have enough. :) Lovely home!
ReplyDeleteYes! Give me all the pillows!!
DeleteYour home is gorgeous! I am with you, I am thinking of removing my gallery wall but large art is expensive. The pieces that you have on your wall are pretty and look great for spring.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry! Yes, good art is definitely an investment, that's for sure!
DeleteStephanie, I love your gallery wall. I don't have a place for one, so I'm kind of jealous. One big piece of art is impactful, but can be expensive, heavy and may tie you down so I like the interest of the different pieces and the flexibility of moving them around. Great use of color in the art and the pillows.
ReplyDeleteVery true! I like to change things up quite a bit, so having the gallery wall does give me some flexibility for sure!
DeleteI love all your pretty floral touches! Perfect for spring!
ReplyDeleteLove the navy and pink together! And your pillows are perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe pink touches are perfect! And your gallery wall and painting are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteStephanie I love your home! All the color makes me so happy! I am totally loving your diy coffee table too!
ReplyDeleteI love the gallery wall with the hanging succulent planters! The navy couch is stunning. Such a welcoming space!
