A Side Table For the Book Hoarder

Here is a quick and easy little DIY that requires no DIY skills whatsoever. All you need is a bunch of books that are just collecting dust, 5 minutes, and a little spot that is in need of a table.

Ready? Ta-da!! A book table!

Seriously, it's a stack of books, that I'm now using as a table. I know, a little ridiculous to call it a DIY, but I did "make" it myself (I know it's a stretch!!) My cozy little reading nook needed a little bit of fun, and I needed a spot to set a drink.

I had a bunch of books just sitting in the basement, that were not getting read, so I decided they either needed to go at the next garage sale, or I needed to do something with them. If you are not a hoarder, and don't have lots of unread books sitting around, thrift stores and garage sales are a great way to get a few for pretty cheap. Just stick with hardbacks, and the bigger the better, that way you have a nice base for your table.

What do you think? I think it's a pretty good use of books that were just sitting around anyways, and it adds a fun little bit a color and character to this corner.

  2. Cute and practical idea! I would have to glue the books together as my boys would see them as a tower to knock down! Love the vintage chair you have there. Visiting from BOB Tribe.
