A Bold Neutral Master Bedroom
What? Bold and neutral, how is that even possible? Well my friends, you are about to see how I turned our master bedroom from pretty boring, to a relaxing bold neutral retreat. And, for those of you keeping track, yes, this is the makeover I hinted about almost 6 months ago. But, now it is all done, and I am absolutely loving my new bold neutral master bedroom!
Such a dramatic change right?! I am so in love with my new bold and cozy master bedroom!

This entire room makeover started with stenciling the wall behind the bed. I found this Beads All Over Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils, and absolutely loved the pattern! While I loved the dark statement wall (Graphite by Glidden), but this room was begging for a little more character. Using the lighter color from the other walls in the stencil kept the color palette simple, but the contrast makes a bold statement!
The bold pattern helps to make the new headboard standout too. I ended up going with the LexMod Curl Nailhead Upholstered Headboard, and it is beautiful! (If you are in the market for a new headboard, be sure to check out my Top 10 Budget Friendly Headboards, lots of awesome, budget-friendly options!) Since we were adding the new headboard, we also decided to upgrade our mattress as well. We found this great memory foam mattress on Amazon, and guys, it is so good! We like it so much we upgraded the boys' mattresses to the same brand too!
Some new bedding and nightstands, some easy DIY typography art, and this space feels like such a relaxing retreat now! My only regret is that it took me so long to get it finished up!
Oh, this is stunning! You are getting better and better at creating really, truly gorgeous spaces! I totally think you could get into design consulting!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Erica! That is what I would ultimately love to do, it's just taken me awhile to find my style groove!
ReplyDeleteI love your room. And that wall, it's so beautiful! I wanted an upholstered headboard but we went with a spindle one. I'm trying to figure out a way to add some upholstery to it as a temporary update. Anyway, back to your room. Love the bedside prints and the white comforter, it's such a nice pallet for changing out pillows for a new look.
ReplyDeleteThanks Toni! I would think about using a throw blanket draped over the headboard as a simple temporary headboard update. Then it would be easy to change it up whenever the mood strikes.
DeleteThis is beautiful! LOVE the accent wall. How hard was it to stencil all that? What stencil did you use?
ReplyDeleteThanks LouAnn! It was really pretty easy to stencil, since the stencil itself is pretty big. I just added the link to the stencil above, it is the Beads All Over stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils.
DeleteThe gray and blue look really nice together. And, I like the prints that you chose. They are so complementary.
ReplyDeleteYour room turned out so great, I just love the bold of the blue and the stenciling. It all goes together so beautifully. Thanks for linking up to Waste Not Wednesday Link Party!
