DIY Metallic Fall Pumpkins

Today I'm back with an easy way to bring fresh colors and fun to those simple faux pumpkins you have sitting in your fall decor/Halloween stash. I seem to have more of these pumpkins than I remembered...they must be reproducing in the off-season! I'm also sharing a tip for getting your spray paint projects done when the weather isn't perfectly ideal.

I wanted to add a little bit of fun to my fall decor this year, and I really considered trying a new bold color, but I just couldn't do it. So, I went with my old stand-by accent of gold, and threw in a little silver for good measure.

These plain little pumpkins on the coffee table were about to get a glam makeover!

Simple changes take this living room from summer to cozy fall in just a few minutes.

For this makeover grabbed my go-to gold spray paint and a can of silver spray paint. Normally, I would just lay a piece of cardboard down on the grass and start spraying, the hubby doesn't really like that though, mostly because I still manage to paint the grass! But, on the one day that the humidity wasn't crazy high, it was windy so spraying in the open was not going to happen.

Luckily, I had just got my small spray shelter from my friends at Home Right, so the wind was no longer an issue. And the spray painted grass is no longer an issue either! I just popped open the shelter in a shady spot on the patio (and used a couple of bricks as anchors due to the wind) and was ready to paint in less than a minute.

Use a Home Right Small Spray Shelter to complete small spray paint projects, even on days when the weather isn't perfect!!

Each pumpkin got a couple of light coats of paint, and then they were ready to come back inside and show off their new look.

Add a little Halloween glam by spray painting plain faux pumpkins with gold and silver metallic spray paint!

I debated about painting the stems, or just leaving them their "natural" color, in the end I decided it was just easier to paint the entire pumpkin. I love how they turned out, and think they are a fun additional to the other fall and Halloween decor.

Add a little Halloween glam to you home by spray painting plain faux pumpkins with gold and silver metallic spray paint!

And, if I decide to go with a bold color next year, I'm sure there will be more pumpkins sitting in the basement waiting to be painted...
