Small Changes to Bring Fall Into the Family Room
If you are following me on Instagram, you have already seen little bits of fall appearing in my home. I promise my full fall home tour is almost here, I'm waiting on my darn mums to bloom, which should be any day now, and then I will have the tour ready to go!
In the meantime, I wanted to share a few small changes I made in our family room to make it feel more fall-like. These changes are so easy, but I feel like they go a long way to change the look and feel of the space.
Here is the before, with the last remnants of what was my super minimal summer decor (and seeing this picture reminds me I need to repaint the top of the coffee table, the surface scratches are getting a little out of control):
And, here it is after my fall quick change:
Nothing earth- shattering, right? But, it just goes to show how a few changes make the space feel a little more cozy. Here is what I did:
~~ Switch out a few of the pillows; I added a darker plaid that brings in some additional navy blue, which I love adding in the fall! I also added a new "thankful" pillow that brings in a little touch of gold too.
~~ Add in a super cozy cable knit throw blanket, now that it is seasonally acceptable to be wrapped in a blanket while relaxing on the couch.
~~ Change out the succulent for a couple of branches of fall leaves.
~~ Add in a pumpkin or two, for good measure. While orange is not my favorite color to decorate with, I find that in the fall, I want just a tiny little bit of it to bring in some warmth.
Your blues and white are so fresh yet classic looking. This is a new color palette for me in our coastal home so I like to see how others work the seasons into this scheme. So glad I stopped by via Creative Circle.
