Paint Chip Display

Please tell me that I am not the only one who can't walk into a Home Depot, or any other home supply/hardware store, and not walk back out without a couple of paint chips in my hands. I like to keep a file with all the colors I like and may want to incorporate into my home in some way. I try to got through it once in a while and get rid of colors that maybe are not so appealing anymore, or ones that I liked so much that I now have 2 or 3 of the same color.

I had a small stack from my last sorting session but I wanted to find something creative to do with them. Then I spotted an idea hanging on my wall. I hung this wire card sorter up at Christmas to show off the cards that we received and I hated to take it back down. (Mostly I didn't want to take it down because it would leave two screw holes in the wall that I was going to have to patch.)

So, I did what any rational person would do. I took the extra paint chips that I had, and laid them on the floor and attempted to arrange them in color order. Some the colors in this group made it a little more difficult than I planned, but I got arranged in an order that made me happy and then put them in place. Behold, my amazingly simple paint chip display!

Do you have a collection of paint chips that continues to grow? If you do decide to get rid of some of them, do you just toss them, or do you do something creative with them?
