Thrift Store Throwdown: The Preview

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! We have been busy prepping for the little bathroom remodel we have going on this week, and celebrating the end of the baseball season with the kids and their teammates. Nothing like looking forward to Monday to recover from the weekend!

So, I have joined with this great group of gals to do a "Thrift Store Throwdown" this month. (Be sure to check out the list of participants at the end.) We were each tasked with picking up an item, or items, from the thrift store and sending those items to someone else in the group. Once you had your item(s), you had to get creative and turn your thrift store treasure(s) into something awesome!

I went shopping for Courtney from All Things New Again, you will have to head over to her blog to see what I sent her! And let's say, my space planning for shipping was way off; I had to use 2 boxes because of the variety of sizes of items, and the fact that I had to use what boxes the post office had available. (I'll plan better next time!)

Suzanne from Shop at Blu sent me a giant box!! In it was a metal stool (that nicely folds flat) and this fancy silver serving tray. There is one obvious project in my mind for these 2 items, but I'm pushing myself to come up with some alternative ideas too. I would love to hear what you would do with  these, tell me in the comments below, maybe it will help me get my creative juices going!

If you haven't been over to Suzanne's blog before, you need to visit and take a look around, she has all kinds of great project ideas that I am sure you will love. Here are a few that I think you might like:
