Easy DIY Drop Cloth Pillows
So, I have a confession, I am a craft supply hoarder. Please tell me I'm not alone in this! I find something awesome on Pinterest, run to Michaels (or Home Depot), buy all of the supplies, and then I can't find the time to make my new great project. This happens more often than I would like to admit, so today's post is coming to you courtesy of my craft table, that I currently can't see.
The section of drop cloth that I cut off to make my curtains was the perfect size to make a pillow. I grabbed some thread that matched my trim, and just did a simple stitch all the way around the pillow (leaving a small hole to use for adding stuffing).
I don't know about you, but sometimes I think we tend to get caught up in the collecting, or keeping of something, simply because it's old. This project, in addition to creating something from the supplies I had on hand, was a reminder to myself that I need to do better at using the vintage things I have, and not just let them sit collecting dust. So, I took my pretty ric-rac trim and glued it to the front of my pillow, and let it sit for about an hour before I added the pillow stuffing. (I used Eileen's Tacky Glue to attach the trim - affiliate link.)
Once all the pillow stuffing was added, I finished stitching the opening shut, and I had a brand new pillow! And it was made completely from supplies I already had around the house, so it didn't cost me a dime!
And see those fun pillows behind my new drop cloth pillow? Those are super easy DIYs too! They are made from cloth placemats, you can see my tutorial on how easy they are to make right here. Now it's up to you! I challenge you to dig through that craft supply stash of yours, and make something amazing!
I love a good drop cloth project and your pillow is delightful!

DeleteHow cute! I NEVER (!) would have guessed that you made them! I had to scroll back through the pics several times and think they look perfect. My friend from high school, Courtney, who blogs at The Hamby Home loves drop cloth projects. I'll have to share this with her.
