Weekend Getaway

**Consider yourself warned: This is a long post and has a lot of pictures. Enjoy!**

The hubby and I went on a quick weekend getaway with some friends (and no kids) to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We were all looking for something not too far away so we wouldn't waste a big chunk of our trip driving, and Eureka Springs was around 5 hours away, far enough to feel like a vacation, but not an entire day's drive.

We stayed at an awesome house just at the end of the main street downtown. Shopping and dining were just a few steps away (the steps might have all been uphill, but nonetheless it was still just a few steps). We spent every evening sitting outside on the front porch just chatting and enjoying the great weather. So, lets get on to the details of this house, shall we?

Here the front of the house. I mean seriously, who wouldn't want to just pull up one of those rocking chairs and a glass of wine and hang out with friends for an entire evening?

When you first walk into the house, you come into the dining room, which has beautiful wood floors, and an entire wall of built-ins. Love the green inside the cabinets! If I was a good blogger, I would say then you move on to the living room area, but I forgot to take a picture of it, you can see a picture of it from the home's website here.

This place had a great kitchen! I love the white beadboard on the walls and cabinets, it makes the kitchen feel old, yet updated at the same time. The window frame over the sink gets a splash of the same green that is in the dining room built-ins. The beams on the ceiling are the perfect finishing touch, drawing your eyes up and completing the space.

This would be the only picture I took of our bedroom, again, blogger fail. The trim details on the walls and ceiling made the room feel cozy, and that bed was super comfy.

The flower gardens all around the property were beautiful. I loved the rock walls, and as you drive around Eureka Springs you will notice all of these great gardens built into the hillsides and they seem to go up forever. By the way, if anyone knows what type of tree this is in the last two pictures, let me know. They were very interesting, and I'm pretty sure we don't have them around back home, at least I haven't seen them anywhere.

This home was filled with lots of little details that just make you feel right at home. It was a great trip and we had a lot of fun just getting away with friends for a couple of days. Where is your favorite weekend getaway?
