No-Sew Drop Cloth Curtains In 4 Simple Steps

First things first, where did this month go? I have been a real slacker around here these last couple of weeks, and now it's the end of the month! I'm so excited to be back with this super easy no-sew drop cloth curtain project for you, it was an easy DIY that doesn't take much time at all.

How to make no sew drop cloth curtains for any room in your home!

So, here is a little background to this project. I like to switch my living room curtains out seasonally, and I picked up some grey linen curtains that I thought would be nice and light for the spring. Well, the grey had a weird purpley cast to it next to my grey walls, and it. made. me. crazy. Enter my "dropcloth curtains seem easy enough" idea, and here we are today.

And guess what? Drop cloth curtains are easy to make, and since they are a nice blank canvas (pun totally intended!), you can customize them to any style, and any room in your home. I even added grommets to the top for a more finished look, and a little painted detail at the bottom to add a little character!

Here is what you will need to make your own no-sew drop cloth curtains:

Fabric Paint (or Acrylic Paint and Textile Medium)
Paintbrush
Iron

Looking for new curtains? Here are tips for making your own super easy DIY drop cloth curtains!

Ready to go? This will be quick!

Step 1: Wash and dry your drop cloth.

Step 2: Cut the drop cloth to your desired length (I used my old curtains as my guide). This is where I kept mine no-sew, I left the unfinished edge, I prefer the slight fraying. You can definitely hem the bottom with iron-on hem tape for a finished edge too, if you prefer.

Step 3: Using the template that came with the grommets, measure the spacing and trace the outlines for your grommets. Following the package instructions, attach the grommets to your curtains. (Come back for a full tutorial on this step next week!)

Step 4: Add a fun little pattern detail to the bottom section with fabric paint. Don't forget to set the paint with an iron according to the paint instructions!

Use fabric paint to add the perfect accent to DIY drop cloth curtains!

The best part about these curtains is that you can add as little or as much detail as you want! Want to add fabric trim, pom poms, more paint, more color, or just leave them plain? Go right ahead and do what you want, and really make them the perfect accent to your room!

This is the easiest way to DIY your own grommet top drop cloth curtains! All it takes is 4 simple steps!
