Spring/Summer To-Do's

Happy Wednesday! In lieu of a traditional to-do list, I thought it would be fun to show you a bunch of before's of projects that I hope to complete this spring and summer. Here we go!

This is the view off the northeast side of our deck; don't let this shot deceive you, although it looks fairly flat here, it is one giant hill. (If you follow me on Instagram you have already seen my boys sledding down it!) My plan is to eventually build a series of stairstep raised garden beds all the way down the hill. This year I just want to get one or two of them built, and get my tomatoes and peppers planted.

Let's lean back over the rail and take a look at the deck. This space just needs a little bit of love, I picked up these green stackable chairs from Target last year and I am loving the bright color. I am envisioning a new outdoor rug to bring some more color and pattern to the space. I will also be DIYing a couple of small tables that will make relaxing out here more enjoyable.

First, I apologize for the fuzzy picture, our entryway is really difficult to photograph because of the lack of good lighting. This is the bottom of the china hutch we got from my hubby's grandmother. I like having the two pieces separate and using this as our entry table. As you can see it is packed full of photo albums and school scrapbooks, what you can't see, is that drawer is practically empty, it has so much potential. I am going to turn this into an awesome entry console. Everything you could need on the way out the the door is going to be neatly organized here. Now, I have to figure out where to neatly corral all those photo albums...that will be another post.

This red wall here in my youngest boy's bedroom, has been irritating me since the day I finished painting it. I despise red walls, I don't know why I ever thought this was a good idea. I'm pretty sure there are 3 coats of paint on this wall, and it is still super uneven and blotchy. Thankfully I only painted one wall in his room this color, so it will be a quick fix. This wall is going to turn a cheery shade of green in the not so distant future. I can't wait!

I am racking my brain for ideas for this sad blank wall over the bed in our master bedroom. I'm not sure what I want here, and I think part of my hang-up is bed itself. I want to paint the bedframe a different color and do something different with the headboard. I really think the headboard needs to be built up more and become more of a functional focal point on the wall. (Also, I really need get rid of the dark sheets and buy some white ones, I think that little update will go a long way in updating the look of the bed.)

Last, but not least, the room that is behind this door. Our master bathroom is the last room in the house that remains unpainted, mostly because I am having a really hard time deciding what color to use. (This is also the last room that I get around to cleaning, so this is the preview you get, you're welcome.) We have a window in here so there is a lot of natural light, which is why I am leaning towards a medium or medium/dark color for the space. I'm sure it will be the last thing on the to-do list that gets done, so don't hold your breath on this one.

What is on your spring and summer to-do list? Do you think you will get everything done?
