June Bride - One Year Ago

A year ago we were busy, busy, busy working on the details for my sister's June wedding. In honor of her upcoming anniversary, I thought it would be fun to look back on all the handmade details that we put into her big day.

We collected barn boards and I was enlisted to paint them. We had directional signs for the wedding and parking, a sign at the ceremony location and a small sign made for a game table that was set up for the guests who wanted to take a break from the dance floor.

Centerpieces were wildflowers collected from the field and parts of market flower bunches from the store. Vintage bottles that mom has collected over the years held the blooms. We also included small jars of crayons and blank paper for the little ones that would be there. Other sections of the table included monogrammed fans to help guests cool down.

Our grandparents old mailbox collected cards from guests.

We transformed old cable optic spools into chalkboard topped tables for the kids (ok, and adults too).

The bouquets were put together the morning of the wedding in our parents' kitchen. We disassembled market flower bunches and wrapped the finished bouquets with vintage ribbon and lace. Then during the reception we placed them in aluminum pitchers for head table centerpieces.

All the details of this wedding were a labor of love, and it was a fun project to work on with my sister and our mom and dad. Was your wedding a handmade one?
