Kitchen Reorganization - Cabinets

This year I am determined to rid our home of clutter and get things organized. One big item on the list was the kitchen. After living here for 3 years, there were just some things in places that didn't make sense and it really needed to be re-evaluated. I was excited to get started (is that wrong that I was excited to clean and organize the kitchen cabinets?), but it kept getting put off because other things kept coming up. Today's focus is on the cabinets, next time we will be taking a look at the pantry.

Here is what the counter and table looked like before I started, so nice and clean...

And here it is after I took everything out of the cabinets. Holy Cow!!

While everything was out I gave all the shelves a good wipe down with my favorite cleaner. This stuff smells sooo good, I was seriously looking for more stuff to clean so I could keep using it.

So without further ado, here is a series of before and afters of all of the cabinets. Surprising, I only got rid of one medium sized box of stuff. But, getting rid of that little bit, and having things in places that make more sense has given me a ton more room.

I picked up these baskets at the dollar store to corral some of the smaller items. They worked perfectly to keep baking spices separate from the cooking spices and tuck nicely into the back of the cabinet. I also used them to organize the lids for the plastic containers and to keep little lunchbox storage boxes all together.

I am so happy with the updates I have made so far in the kitchen. Have you done any reorganizing in your kitchen? Does it make cooking/baking more enjoyable for you when everything is in a place that makes better sense?

    1. Thank you! A lot of what sparked the need for this was trying to get things moved to places that made more sense for they way we cook. I feel like things make better sense now. Thanks for stopping by!
